Google seems to have been crowned with Facebook meteoric rise, and has now grown into the action with a series of new changes in the formulation of its social networking site, Orkut.

The area, which has been in decline in recent months, will see a lot of new features and a drastic change in appearance.

The “refreshing new look” of Orkut is based on the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) infrastructure and will include the ability to automatically discover friends, video chat integrated with Google Talk, the ability to upload images in bulk very quickly, add/view photos and videos in-line, and a more interactive activity operations, says Google.

The new version of Orkut with new features that definitely looks promising. However, this will be NOK to stop the Facebook juggernaut that will take over Norway?
