A bit of authentic fun By Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly
Let’s not get cosmic about Bill O’Reilly interviewed Jon Stewart Wednesday night on “The O’Reilly Factor.”
It was fun – great fun – and sometimes even enlightening to see two of the most authentic cable casters in the history of the medium to sit down together, save some and deconstruct their conversation, even when they had it.
The fun part. You know how Stewart is funny, but O’Reilly is incredibly fast and has a wonderful sense of humor.
When O’Reilly asked Stewart if he would be “shocked” to discover that a “democratic” poll found Fox to be the most credible news channel on TV, Stewart cracked back, “Are you shocked that an internet poll, said I most trusted Newscaster in America?
“Yes, but it was like, Blinky made it [to Poll],” O’Reilly countered. “This [measure, as referred to Fox] was a big, big, big concern.”
Stewart sank his head in laughter at “Blinky” line.
Later, when O’Reilly tried to describe Glenn Beck as a “basic Everyman” Stewart interrupted with a roar of disbelief, “What do you think he is Everyman?
He is Everyman. He sits on a bastool and …”
