John Martha Run For Re-Election After Recent Hospitalization?
John Murtha was placed in intensive care this week after complications arose from his gall bladder surgery last week end now the Washington Post wonders from several sources that he can not run for a 19th term come November.

The same speculation has intensified with the recognition that Murtha has the last three months raised only $ 100,000; end gave his campaign $ 388,000. But these figures can be misleading since Murtha hardly have met some challenges since he took over the seat of 1974. Only once he had a suitable opponent in Rep. Frank Mascara, but even then, redistricting, which had forced the primary still comes Murtha with a significantly easy victory.
If he chooses to run for re-election, Democrats can win the very competitive field. In 2008, John McCain won with less than 1,000 votes, while John Kerry won the 12 district with a vote of only 51 percent to 49 percent four years earlier. While the district belatedly moving to the right, popular Democrats, as well as Al Gore (55% of the vote in 2000) has played well in the neighborhood. If Murtha is not running, expect all eyes to be worth getting in November.
