No one else can be surprised by her strong will appear at the Grammy nominations Wednesday, but Taylor Swift certainly is.
“I started freaking out and jumping up and down,” Swift, 19, tells the Associated Press. “I honestly would never have predicted this, eight nominations – I’m ecstatic, and blown away and so, so grateful.”
With eight nods, Swift was only outdone by Beyoncé, who had 10, and in front of Lady Gaga, with five. Swift is up for album of the year, Fearless, and song, record and country album of the year.
It soon birthday girl was in Los Angeles hotel room with her mother, edit home videos when her producer tested the news: “AAUUGGH!!!!!”
“To be recognized by the Grammys is the ultimate honor, and I know is that when I write about this in my diary, tonight will be capitalized and underlined four times, and there will be many exclamation points in this post because I never thought I would come to write this kind of diary, “said Swift.
Swift has been nominated before, but never won. She finds out if she will take home a statuette 31 January.
